Meet Our Abbess!
Mother Silouana has been consecrated to the Lord for nearly 50 years. She is originally from Egypt and had extensive ministries all over Egypt. She has ministered also internationally, in countries including the UK, South Korea, Germany, Switzerland, France, and regions of the Middle East—to name a few. She moved to the US in 2011 and continues her ministries. She is the Abbess of two thriving monasteries, one in California and another in Arizona.

Who We Are
We are a community of nuns in Southern California.
We started in Egypt in the 1980s and relocated to the US in 2011.
Our monastery was established in 2015, and has since grown, by the grace and blessing of God. We are now a thriving, growing, diverse sisterhood.
We strive to live a traditional communal monastic life according to the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and the rich wellspring of the teachings of the Early Fathers of the Church.

1980s
A Young Sisterhood in Egypt
Our sisterhood began in the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt with a group of young women on fire for God consecrating their lives to worshipping and serving Him.
2011
Relocation to the US
God called us to relocate to the US and continue our ministry and ascesis in an entirely new land. God blessed us greatly in His divine arrangements and care for us in all regards.

Thriving, Growing Sisterhood
God has blessed us to welcome new, young sisters, some even coming from overseas! By God’s grace, our community is quickly growing and flourishing!
